Telephone Advice
Your doctor will be happy to give you advice on the telephone when he/she is not consulting. The receptionist will ask you to leave a message and the doctor will return your call when time permits.

Out of Hours If you require urgent medical attention outside surgery opening times. Please call: 0845 408 8000 This service is provided by the local Primary Care Trust, calls may be recorded.

Whooping cough cases increase

Cases of whooping cough (pertussis) reported to the Health Protection Agency (HPA) in England and Wales have more than doubled from 421 cases in 2010 to 1040 in 2011. Increases in levels of whooping cough are seen every three to four years and figures in 2011 are in line with cases reported in the last peak year of 2008.

Nurses

Nurse Julie Brigden (f)
Julie is Lead Practice Nurse and is trained to help you with minor illness problems, sexual health, coil fitting, contraceptive implants, asthma, copd, family planning, smears and general nursing care. Julie and the team also carry out all the childhood vaccinations in the surgery.

Nurse Lynda Watson (f)
Lynda is our travel clinic expert and is also able to advise on yellow fever vaccinations. She runs one of the INR Star clinics for our Warafrin pateints and she is also responsible for our flu campaign each year. Her main role is to provide ongoing treatment room care to our, patients,dressings,injections,smears, etc. Lynda is also involved with the childhood vaccinations.

Nurse Catherine Cassell (f)
Catherine is trained to carry out diabetic care for our patients, both in the surgery and at home for housebound patients. She is trained in COPD care and she also carries out general nurse treatments. Catherine is also involved with childhood vaccinations.

Nurse Angela Strange (f)

Angela is our lead nurse in our new INR star clinic for our Warfarin patients and she is also lead nurse for Coronary Heart Disease. Running clinics to help support our patients with heart problems. Angela also provides general treatment room care, dressings, injections,smears, etc. Angela is also involved with childhood vaccinations.

Nurse Helen Lyndon (f)
Helens main role is to provide ongoing treatement room care to our patients, dressings, pill checks, ear syringes etc. She also runs one of our INR Star clincis for our Warfarin patients and is trained in Asthma.

Healthcare Assistants

Mrs Joyce Knight (f)
Joyce is our longest serving member of the team. She provides nursing assistant care for our patients, carrying out blood tests, dressing care, blood pressure checks and ECG's.

Mrs June Tildesley (f)
June provides nursing assistant care for our patients, carrying out blood tests, blood pressure checks, ECG's . She works closely with Angela our practice nurse, providing support for our patient with heart problems.

Nurse Simon Merrett (m)
Simon provides nursing assistant care for our patients, carrying out blood tests, blood pressure checks, ECG's and new patient checks. He also carries out home visits for blood tests for patients who can not get in to the surgery

Practice Management

Mrs Karen J Lashly (f)
Karen Lashly is a partner and responsible for the general management of the practice and will be able to help you with any non-medical matters. She is available to discuss any suggestions and deal with any problems you may have.

Mrs Sally Higgins (f)
Sally is our Deputy Practice Manager and will deal with any enquiries in the absence of the Practice Manager. She is also responsible for the Practice accounts and our dedicated secretarial Team. They support the doctors with typing referral letters and sorting out the new choose and book services. The team is Sheila, Julia and Sara

Administration

Mrs Mary Wright (f)
Mary is reponsible for all the administration within the practice. Her team work tucked away upstairs, looking after our clinical system information. They may contact you to invite you in for clinical tests and to gather relevant clinical information. Mary's team are : Jen, Angela, Julia, Maree and Paula.

Mrs Amanda Mason (f)
Amanda is our Clinical Systems Manager / Medicines Management Technician. She is aslo responsible for IT, QOF and prescribing.

Reception

Mrs Elaine Brinson (f)
Elaine is Office Manager and is assisted by June Gould our Reception Team Leader. Her team is here to help you. They may need to ask for further details when you telephone this is to ensure we can assist you as speedily and appropriately as possible. They are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as all our staff. The Reception Team are : Jayne, Sarah, Sue, Sarah, Philippa, Sam, Julie and Louise.

Mrs Lin White (f)
Lin is the team leader for the prescriptions, as well as working in both reception and as a health care assitant. The team is responsible for supporting the doctors to provide our repeat prescription service. Lin's team are, Sue and Sue who also help in reception
